Last updated September 2025
1. Purpose of This Authorization
This Credit Authorization Agreement (“Authorization”) explains how and why The Debt Geek (“we,” “us,” “our”) and our trusted partners may obtain and use your consumer credit information when you inquire about debt relief, debt settlement, or related financial products. Our goal is to help you evaluate available options while protecting your rights under the Fair CreditReporting Act (“FCRA”), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.
2. Your Written Instructions Under the FCRA
By submitting any form on our website or clicking buttons like “See If YouQualify,” “Continue,” or similar, you provide written instructions under FCRA § 604(a)(2) authorizing The Debt Geek and our partners to obtain your consumer credit report, credit score, and other information from one or more consumer reporting agencies (e.g., Experian, Equifax, TransUnion),solely to evaluate your eligibility for debt-relief products.
3. Parties Covered by This Authorization
• The Debt Geek – a lead-generation and marketing company; not a lender, broker, or debt-relief provider.
• Trusted partners – debt-relief providers, lenders, credit-services organizations, and credit-reporting agencies with whom we share your information, subject to their own privacy policies.
4. Information We May Obtain
• Full consumer credit report(s) and/or soft-pull summaries
• Credit scores (current and historical)
• Credit-related data (e.g., balances, payment history)
• Identity verification information (e.g., address, SSN, employment)
5. How the Information Will Be Used
This information may be used to:
a. Verify your identity and prevent fraud;
b. Assess your creditworthiness for debt-relief or consolidation offers;
c. Pre-qualify you with a soft inquiry before any partner performs a hard inquiry, if necessary;
d. Comply with applicable laws and audit requirements.
6. Soft vs. Hard Inquiries
Most partners begin with a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. If you decide to enroll in a program or accept a loan, a hard inquiry may be required, which could impact your credit. We do not control the timing or necessity of these inquiries.
7. Duration & Revocation of Consent
This Authorization is effective for 18 months from your most recent submission or until you withdraw consent in writing—whichever comes first.You may revoke consent at any time by emailing reports@growthlink.co with the subject line “Revoke Credit Authorization.” Revocation does not affect information already obtained or actions already taken.
8. No Obligation & No Guarantee
Providing this Authorization does not obligate you to purchase any product or service. We are not a lender or debt-relief provider and do not guarantee that any partner will offer credit, a program, or savings. All final terms are between you and the partner.
9. Your Rights Under the FCRA
You have the right to:
• Know which consumer-reporting agency provided your report
• Dispute inaccurate or incomplete information with that agency
• Obtain a free credit report once every 12 months from each credit bureau via AnnualCreditReport.com
